תָּרוּט תָּרוּט, תְּרוּטָה f. 1) = טָרוּט, q. v. —2) (cmp. רהט a. denominatives, a. תרץ) straight-lined, abrupt. — Pl. תְּרוּטִים; תְּרוּטוֹת. Midd. II, 5 לא היו ת׳ אלא מוקפות Ar. (Var., a. ed. ט׳) the steps to the Temple were not straight-lined but rounded off (semicircular). Mekh. B’shall. s. 1 לא היו ת׳ וכ׳ (the cavernous rocks, חִירוֹת) did not form straight vertical walls, but were rounded (convex). Y. Succ. I, 52ᵃ top; Y. Sabb.
