תָּרַז (cmp. טרד), Hif. הִתְרִיז to squirt, splash; to have diarrhœa, commit a nuisance. Ḥull. 38ᵃ במַתְרֶזֶת when the animal discharges with a splash, opp. בשותתת, v. שָׁתַת I. B. Kam. 47ᵇ אכל חטין וה׳ ומת the animal ate wheat, and got diarrhœa and died; B. Mets. 90ᵃ היתה אוכלת ומתרזת. Succ. 53ᵇ; Yoma 77ᵃ ומַתְרִיזִין, v. פָּרַע; Kidd. 72ᵇ ומתריזין עצמם (corr. acc.).
    Nif. - נִתְרַז to be shocked, frightened; to be seized with a panic. Lev. R. s. 1 ונִתְרָזִין מתוך וכ׳, v. פַּנִּיקְטִין; Tanḥ. T’rum. 9 ונתרזין בתוך אהליהם (not לתוך) and be panic-stricken in their camps. Ib. והן נתרזין and they were frightened.
