נִקְרָא, נִי׳ m. (נְקַר I) 1) cleft. — Pl. נִקְרַיָּא. Targ. Y. I Num. XXIV, 21 (Y. II כבקרת, read: בנִקְרָתָא, v. נְקִירְתָּא). —2) rag, lint. Sabb. 134ᵇ האי נ׳ מסי Ms. O. a. Ar. (ed. הני כתיתין מסו) a compress of lint has a healing effect (and is not merely a protection). —3) pickings, worms which hens pick. Ab. Zar. 28ᵃ נִי׳ מקילקלתא (Ms. M. נִיקְרֵי pl.) worms from a dunghill.
