נֶקֶף m. (נָקַף I) 1) bruise.—Pl. נְקָפִים. Sabb. 62ᵇ (expl. נקפה, Is. III, 24); Yalk. Is. 264. —2) beating (of the heart), scruples, doubt. Midr. Till. to Ps. IX, 2 שלא יהא בלבי נ׳ that there be no struggle in my heart (ed. Bub., a. Yalk. ib. 642: שלא יהא לבי נוֹקֵף, v. נָקַף I).
