בַּקָּא, (בקק to enter into, search, v. P. Sm. 573; cmp. בִּינָא III, בִּינִיתָא a. פִּשְׁפָּשׁ) gnat. Ḥull. 58ᵇ לית ב׳ בר יומא no gnat lives an entire day. Ib. תלו ליה לב׳ וכ׳ they suspended on the gnat’s proboscis sixty &c. Ib. אמראי בקת׳ לבקא Ar. (ed. אמרא ב׳ מבקא) the she-gnat quarrelled with the he-gnat, v. מרי.—Pl. בַּקֵּי.
