סְבַר III, Poël סוֹבַר (Saf. of ברי; cmp. Arab. sabar exploravit vulnus &c., misbâr specillum vulnerarium) to perforate, cut, (only used in the sense of) to let blood. Part. pass. מְסוֹבַר. Pes. 112ᵃ top דמס׳ ולא משי וכ׳ Ms. M. (ed. מְסוֹכַר, v. סְכַר II) he who has been bled and has not washed his hands. Yeb. 72ᵃ לא מְסוֹבְרִינָן ביה Ar. (ed. מסוכ׳) and on it (that day) we must not be bled. Meïl. 20ᵇ דמס׳ ואכל וכ׳ (ed. דמסוכ׳; Ar. דסַבַּר, prob. clerical error, v. Koh. Ar. Compl. s. v.) he who eats fowl after blood-letting. Ab.
