חֲרוּתָא, (preced.) = h. חֶרְיָה, a dried-up twig, hardened palm-twig, opp. כפות flexible. Succ. 32ᵃ. B. Bath. 161ᵇ; Gitt. 36, a. e. צייר ח׳ drew a palm-twig (as his signature). [Targ. Is. LX, 21 דחרותי ed. Ven., read: דחדותי, v. חֶדְוָא.]—Pl. חֶרְוָתָא, חֶרְוָו׳. B. Bath. 101ᵇ דעביד להו כי ח׳ he makes the burial caves like palm-twigs (in the shape of a fan).
