חַרְזָא, (preced. wds.) stinging, spiny. B. Kam. 80ᵃ (expl. חולדת הסנאים) שרצא הוצא וא"ד ח׳ דקטיני וכ׳ Ms. M. (ed. שרצא חרצא; for oth. var. v. Rabb. D. S. a. l. note 20; marginal vers. שרצא חרצא וא"ד חרצא) a creeping animal (which is) prickly, and some use the word ḥarza (spiny), with tiny legs. But why ‘creeping’?—Because its legs are low.
