תָּפִית f. (תפף to join) attachment, saddle, bandage. Tosef. Kel. B. Bath. II, 7 והת׳ שלו R. S. to Kel. XXIII, 2 (ed. תופס, תופו׳; v. תָּפוּס) and the attachment to it (the saddle). Ib. זרז … והת׳ the Ashkelonian belt … and the saddle (Kel. XXIII, 2 ועביט של גמל). Kel. XXIII, 3 ת׳ של חמור the saddle of a sumpter-ass (consisting of a wooden frame).—Pl. תָּפִיּוֹת. Tosef. l. c. ושאר כל ת׳ שבצדדין and all other attachments (straps &c.) hanging down the sides of the beast of burden.
