נָחַר (sec. r. of חור, חרר) 1) to perforate, esp. to kill by stabbing. Ḥull. V, 3 הנוֹחֵר if one stabs (instead of cutting according to ritual). Pes. 49ᵇ מותר לנוֹחֲרוֹ you may stab him.—[Sifra Aḥăré, Par. 9, ch. XIII שלא תנחור, read: תְנַחֵשׁ, v. נָחַשׁ; Rabad תנקור, v. נָקַר II.] —2) (denom. of נְחִירַיִם) to discharge mucus, run. Nidd. 64ᵇ כל זמן שנוֹחֶרֶת as long as the healing wound discharges matter. V. נְחִירָה.
    Pi. - נִיחַר to be stabbed. Ḥull. 17ᵃ (ref. to ישחט, Num. XI, 22) יִנָּחֵר להם מיבעיא ליה (not ניחר) if no ritual cutting was prescribed for the people in the desert, the text ought to have read, ‘shall be stabbed for them’.
    Pi. - נִיחֵר (denom. of נחירים) to snort. Snh. 94ᵃ (play on ס̇נ̇ח̇ר̇יב) שס̇ח̇ ונ̇יח̇ר̇ וכ׳ he spoke and snorted forth words against heaven.
