נַחֲלָה, [turn, lot,] inheritance, right of succession. B. Bath. VIII, 4 אחד הבן ואחד הבת בנ׳ the same law of succession applies to sons and (eventually) to daughters (v. ib. 122ᵇ). Bekh. VIII, 1, v. בְּכוֹר. Midr. Till. to Ps. V, 1 (play on נחילות ib.) על הנ׳ שנחלתם וכ׳ for the possession which you took from me, and for the possession which I took from you; a. fr.—Trnsf. the central sanctuary at Shiloh or at Jerusalem.
