טְעִימָה, (טָעַם) tasting, transf. testing, the quantity used for testing the color. Men. 42ᵇ ט׳ פסולה the quantity taken out of the kettle for testing is unfit for sacred use; ט׳ פסלה that quantity, if put back, disqualifies the entire contents of the kettle. Ib. 40ᵃ גזירה משום ט׳ (not טעימא or דטעימא) it is to be feared lest the quantity used for testing may be put back again.
