בְּעֵרָה, fire, conflagration. B. Kam. VI, 4 השולח את הב׳ ביד וכ׳ he who sends out a deaf and dumb, an idiot or a minor with burning materials (live coal &c.) thus causing or ordering a conflagration. Ib. השולח את הב׳ he who starts a fire (himself). Ib. 60ᵇ, v. בָּעַר.
