*אֲפָפוֹן, m. (or אֲפָפִין m. pl.) thick web. Midr. Till. to Ps. XVIII, 5 (explain. ăfafuni ib.) when a woman weaves with two double threads הן נקראין א׳ they are called ăfafon (ăfafin); so did David say אפפוני וכ׳ troubles wove around me and came over me doubled.
