*אֱפִיפְּיוֹן, (ἐφίππιον, ephippium) saddle cloth, a figurative expression for the protuberances of the human buttock; v. אַיִן I. Koh. R. to III, 19 (ref. to ‘the advantage of man over beast’ Koh. l. c.) ואפופרין כפוי עליו וכ׳ (corr. acc.) and an ephippium is pressed over it (the lock of the buttock) in order that he may not look as hideous as a beast; Gen. R. s. 17 אפיפורין (and otherwise, to be corrected after Koh. R. l. c.); Yalk. Koh. 969 אפיפורי פרוסה על רגליו (corr. acc.).
