*אִפְיוֹטוֹת, (פוט) prop. able to talk (sensibly), hence children of about six or seven years. Y. Gitt. V, 47ᵇ bot. א׳ פרייא ifyototh (Mish. ib. V, 8 referred to reads פְּעוּטוֹת q. v.) means little ones (v. פרא). Y. Maas. Sh. IV, 55ᵃ פתר לה … א׳ וכ׳ expounds the subject by analogy with the law concerning minors, for we read in the Mishnah &c., v. supra.
