Ib. ת׳ בן אלעשה the hair-cutting of the style of Ben Elashah (clipping); Ned. 51ᵃ והיינו ת׳ של וכ׳ and that is the style of the high priest’s hair-cutting; Snh. 22ᵇ, v. לוּלְיָינִית. M. Kat. 14ᵇ אבל אסור בת׳ a mourner is forbidden to have his hair cut; a. e. —2) (sub. כלי) gardener’s shears. Bets. 34ᵃ אין … בת׳ שלו you must not trim vegetables (on the Holy Day) with the shears with which they are cut in the garden.
