שַׁסְתֵּם, (Shaf. of סתם) to enclose, lock up. Gitt. 68ᵃ שדא ביה … שַׁסְתְּמֵיה Ar. (ed. סתמיה) he threw a chain (looped rope) over him and enclosed his head; [Ar. ‘drew it up’, when we should expect ושַׁסְתְּמָהּ].
