שָׁנַק, (Shaf. of אנק or חנק), Pi. שִׁנֵּק to strangle, choke. Pesik. R. s. 36; Yalk. Is. 359 ומְשַׁנְּקִין את רוחך בעול and they shall choke thy spirit (curb thy energies) with a yoke.
