שׁוּשְׁתְּרֵי, Shusht’ré (prob. modern Shuster), in the Babylonian empire (v. Neub. Géogr. p. 382). Snh. 94ᵃ כי מטו לש׳ על חד תרי Ar. (ed. לשוש תרי, v. Rabb. D. S. a. l. note 200) when the Jewish exiles came to Sh., they said, ‘for one (good land) we have found two’; v. שׁוּשׁ.
