שׁוּשׁ, Shush or Sh’vash (prob. the modern Sus = Shushan, v. Sm. Gr. a. Rom. Geogr. s. v. Susa). Snh. 94ᵃ כי מטי שׁוֹש אמרי שׁוֹיא לארעין Rashi (ed. כי ארעין) when they (the Jewish exiles) came to Sh., they said, this is as good as our land. Ib. שוש תרי, v. שׁוּשְׁתְּרֵי.
