    Pi. - קִוֵּוץ (denom. of קוֹץ) to clear of thorns, weed. M. Kat. 6ᵃ יוצאין לקַוֵּוץ וכ׳ they go out to clear the roads (for the Passover pilgrims). Tosef. Shebi. III, 7 מְקַוְּצִין וכ׳ Var. ed. Zuck. (ed. Zuck. מְקַוְּסִין; oth. ed. מקומין, corr. acc.) you may remove the stones, thorns &c.
