פִּטְפֵּט, פִּיטְ׳ (v. preced., a. פַּטָּטָא) 1) to talk, babble. Men. 65ᵃ חוץ מזקן אחד שהיה מְפַטְפֵּט כנגדו except one old man who talked (childishly) against him. —2) פ׳ ביצרו to talk or argue with one’s own passion, to conquer one’s self. B. Bath. 109ᵇ (play on בנות פ̇וט̇יאל, Ex. VI, 25) דאתי מיוסף שפ׳ ביצרו Elazar was a descendant of Joseph, who (is surnamed Putiel, because he) conquered his passion; Ex.
