סִפְסֵף, (denom. of סוֹף) to cut the ends of, trim; to graze. Naz. VI, 3 (39ᵃ) או שסי׳ כל שהוא (Bart. ששִׂיפְשֵׂף, cmp. שָׂפָה) or trimmed his hair ever so little. Ib. 39ᵇ. Y. ib. VI, 55ᵃ bot. לרבות את המְסַפְסֵף to include (in the prohibition) him who trims his hair. Y. B. Kam. VI, 5ᶜ top סִיפְסְפָה אבניו if the fire grazed his stones.
