זְקִיפָא II, (זִיקְפָּא) m. (preced.) 1) pole, scaffolding, gallows. Targ. II Esth. II, 7; a. e.—Targ. I Chr. X, 10 זיק׳.—Meg. 16ᵇ וי"ו … למימתחה כז׳ (Asheri כי ז׳; ed. בז׳ incorr.; v. Rabb. D. S. a. l. note 6) you must extend the Vav of ויזתא (Esth. IX, 9) as long as a pole; כולהו בחד ז׳ וכ׳ (ed. זקיפה, Ms. H. 2 בז׳ חדא; Asheri בחדא ז׳) they were all hanged on one pole (at the same execution, v. infra).—B. Mets. 83ᵇ תותי ז׳ under the gallows.
