גַּדְּפָן, (גדף) blasphemer.—Pl. גַּדְּפָנִין, גֹּודְ׳. Y. M. Kat. III, 83ᵇ משרבו הגד׳ וכ׳ since the (gentile) blasphemers (of the Lord) became too numerous, they (the Israelites) ceased to rend their garments (on hearing blasphemy); Y. Snh. VII, 25ᵇ top הגי׳ (corr. acc.).—Y. Yoma VII, 44ᶜ top; Cant. R. to IV, 4 על הגו׳ (Lev. R. s. 10 על המְגַדְּפִים) atones for the blasphemers.
