תְּכָךְ, preced. wds.); pl. תְּכָכִים middle, mean; איש ת׳ a man of medium wealth, of some means. Lev. R. s. 34 (ref. to Ps. XXIX, 13) רש זה שהוא רש בתורה ואיש ת׳ וכ׳ ‘poor’ means poor of knowledge, and the ‘man of means’, that is he who has learned one or two orders (of the Mishnah); עמד רש עם איש ת׳ וכ׳ the ignorant comes to the scholarly man, saying, teach me &c.; רש … בנכסים ואיש ת׳ זה שהוא עושה בפעולה ‘poor’ means poor of possessions, and ‘the man of means’, that is he who works with success; עמד רש עם איש ת׳ וכ׳ the poor man comes to the successful man &c.; Yalk. ib. 665 איש ת׳ זה שהוא בינוני מן הנכסים he who is of medium wealth (v. Tem. 16ᵃ; Ex. R. s. 31¹⁴).
