תְּחַוְותָּא, name of a bird. Ḥull. 63ᵃ במערבא … וקרו לה ת׳ (Ms. R. 2 וקרו להו תַּחְוָתָא pl., v. Rabb. D. S. a. l. note 10) in the west (Palestine) they punish for eating it (them) (the קקואתא), and they call it t’ḥavta (call them taḥvatha).
