תְּבַלּוּל, mixture, blending of the colors of the eye. Sifra Emor, ch. II, Par. 3 ת׳ לבן נכנס בשחור וכ׳ t’ballul means the white of the eye invading the black, or the reverse; (oth. opin.) לבן פוסק וכ׳, v. סִירָה II; Bekh. VI, 2. ib. 38ᵇ מהו לשון ת׳ דבר המבלבל וכ׳ what is the meaning of t’ballul? Anything that disturbs the arrangement of the eye, v. בִּלְבֵּל.—Pl. תְּבַלּוּלִים, תְּבלּוּלִין. Y. Pes. IX, 36ᵈ bot. דוקים ות׳ פוסלין בו cataracts and blendings make it unfit for the Passover sacrifice; Tosef. Pes. VIII, 11 פסח מצרים לא נהגו דקין ות׳ וכ׳ for the Passover in Egypt they did not consider cataracts and blendings to be disqualifications, but for the regular Passover they did &c.
