קַרְמִית קַרְמִית, (from its color; cmp. קַרְמוּלִין) cow-wheat (Melampyron) of which a coarse bread is made. Tosef. Ḥall. I, 1 אף הק׳ חייבת וכ׳ (ed. Zuck. קרומית) ḳ. is also subject to the priest’s gift; Y. ib. I, beg. 57ᵃ; Y. Pes. II, 29ᵇ top; Bab. Pes. 35ᵃ, expl. שיצניתא דמשתכחא וכ׳ a weed found among Papaver Spinosum. Tosef. ib.
