R. s. 18 אין קוֹנְסִים אלא וכ׳ none are punished below twenty years of age, v. עָנַשׁ. Gen. R. s. 20, beg. למה הייתם קוֹנְסִין את בני why did you fine (confiscate the property of) my children?; Yalk. Ps. 888; a. fr.—Esp. to decree a penalty beyond the strict law. B. Mets. 72ᵃ, a. e. שטר … קונסין אותו וכ׳ if interest is stipulated in a document, we fine him (the creditor) so that he cannot collect either the principal or the interest. B.
