קָלַף (cmp. גָּלַף) to scrape, peel, pare. Pes. VII, 2 (75ᵇ) יִקְלוֹף את מקומו (Bab. ed. יְקַלֵּף) let him pare off the place where it touched the wall of the stove. Ib. 3 יקלוף את החיצון let him pare off the surface. Tosef. Neg. VI, 8 היה קוֹלֵף וכ׳ he scraped off the sand (cement) between one stone and another; a. fr.—Part. pass. קָלוּף; f. קְלוּפָה &c.
