צֶמֶל, (cmp. צמצם) [contraction, wrinkle,] the last stage in the growth of the fig; trnsf. the stage of complete puberty of woman, v. בּוֹחַל. Nidd. V, 7. Ib. 47ᵃ (phonetic etymology) כמ"ד יצ̇תה מ̇ל̇אה as one says, it has come forth complete. Ib.ᵇ צ׳ מלמעלה the symptom of complete puberty on the upper part of the body.
