פָּסַח, (b. h.) to leap over; to spare. Ex. R. s. 15 שאני פוֹסֵחַ עליכם ומגין וכ׳ I (the Lord) will pass over and protect you. Pes. X, 5 פֶּסַח על שום שפ׳ המקום וכ׳ the Passover lamb is symbolical of the fact that the Lord passed over the houses &c.
