עוּרְפִּילָא, (dimin. of ערף, v. Deut. XXXII, 2; XXXIII, 28; v. עָרַף) fine rain, drizzle. Taan. 4ᵃ top ע׳ אפילו וכ׳ (Ms. M. ער׳) the drizzling rain is good even for the seeds under a hard clod. Ib. (phonetic etym.) מאי ע׳ עורו פילי wake up, ye cracks (of the soil).
