סָנִיף סָנִיף, (סָנַף) attachment, wedge; key-stone. Midr. Till. to Ps. XCI; Pirké d’R. El. ch. XXXV; Yalk. Gen. 120 כאדם שהוא נותן ס׳ לכיפה as one inserts a key-stone in an arch. Ber. 47ᵇ; Y. ib.
