Mets. 27ᵇ כיס וארנקי משום דמְסַמְּנֵי people are not likely to lend a money bag or purse, because they are superstitious about it.—Part. pass. מְסַמַּן; f. מְסַמְּנָא auspicious. Kidd. 59ᵃ ולא מס׳ מילתא and it is inauspicious (to sell the first field one has acquired).
