נְשַׁף I ch. same. Ber. 3ᵇ (expl. נֶשֶׁף) נ׳ ליליא וכ׳ the night blows (expires), and the day comes in; the day blows, and night sets in (Rashi: retires), v. נֶשֶׁף, נִשְׁפָּא.
    Ithpe. - אִינְּשַׁף to be covered with breath, to become dim. Men. 50ᵇ אִינַּשְּׁפָה לה (Ar. איג׳, Var. אינ׳; some ed. Ar. אינשבא) the bread loses its glistening surface (when it gets stale).
