נָעֳמִית, (נָעֵם; v. Fl. to Levy Targ. Dict. II, p. 569 sq.) ostrich. Kel. XVII, 14 ביצת נ׳ המצופה the glazed shell of an ostrich egg; Tosef. ib., B. Mets. VII, 6. Y. Sabb. I, 3ᵈ את בת היענה זו ביצת נ׳ ‘the child of a yaʿănah’ (Lev. XI, 16), this intimates that the egg of an ostrich (and of all other unclean birds) is forbidden; a. e.—Pl. נָעֳמִיּוֹת. Tosef. Sabb.
