מִשְׁלַחַת, errand, message; substitution. Num. R. s. 14 והיה זריז במִשְׁלַחְתּוֹ and he (Naftali) was zealous in carrying out his mission. Koh. R. to VIII, 8. (expl. משלחת, ib.) אין אדם וכ׳ (‘there is no substitution in war’,) none can say to the angel of death, let my slave or an inmate of my house go in my place.
