לְחִיכָה, (לָחַךְ) licking, lapping (of flames). Y. Ḥag. II, 77ᵇ bot. והיתה האש מלחכת אותן כלְחִיכָתָן מסיני and flaming tongues lapped them (the words) as they were lapped when coming down from Sinai.
