כִּשְׁכֵּשׁ, (כשש; cmp. גִּשְׁגֵּשׁ) to knock, strike, move to and fro, shake. Bets. 20ᵃ כ׳ להם בזנבה (Ms. M. כ׳ לה) he made for them (in their presence) striking movements with the animal’s tail (making believe it was a female); Y. ib. II, 61ᶜ top התחיל מְכַשְׁכֵּשׁ בזנבה; Y. Ḥag. II, 78ᵃ bot.—Ḥull. II, 6 עד שׁתְּכַשְׁכֵּשׁ בזנבה unless the animal strikes about with its tail (an evidence of vitality).
