כַּוְנָא, (v. כַּוָּוא; cmp. חוֹפֶן a. כַּף) the hollow of the hand, handful (as a measure), spoonful (mostly in medicine; cmp. Lat. coclear). [Editions, except ed. Sonc., have ב׳, Ar. a. Mss. כ׳, v. Rabb. D. S. a. l. c. infra.] Sabb. 110ᵇ כ׳ דכמונא וכ׳ (Ms. M. כי׳) one handful of cumin-seed, and one of &c. Gitt. 70ᵃ כ׳ דחמרא וכ׳ a spoonful of old wine.—Pl. כַּוְנֵי or כּוּנֵי. Erub. 29ᵇ (ed.
