חָרָשָׁא, (v. חֶרֶשׁ; cmp. לַחַשׁ) fascinator, charmer, sorcerer. Targ. O. Deut. XVIII, 10 (some ed. חֲרָשׁ); a. e.—Cant. R. to III, 6. Y. Ḥag. II, 77ᵈ bot. עיסקיה דהדין ח׳ וכ׳ it is the nature of a sorcerer that he can do nothing when lifted from the ground. Ber. 62ᵃ bot. (in an incantation) לא חַרְשֵׁי דח׳ וכ׳ (Var. דחָרָשֵׁי … pl., v.
