הַטְלֵיס, (טלל, v. אַטְלֵיז) bazaar, shop, public place (cmp. חָנוּת). Gen. R. s. 19; s. 20 I shall die ואתה יושב לך ה׳ (some ed. הטלים, corr. acc.), and thou wilt sit in public places (with none to care for)?—Pl. הֶטְלֵיסִין, הוּטְ׳. Ib. s. 37 היו מעמידין ה׳ (some ed. סון …, corr. acc.) they arranged bazaars (with entertainments) where they would exchange their wives. Ib. s. 79 (ref. to ויחן, Gen. XXXIII, 18; cmp. חָנוּת) התחיל מעמיד ה׳ וכ׳ he was the first to put up bazaars and sell cheap.
