דְּלַעַת, (דלע, cmp. דֳּלִי a. זְלוּעַ) [bottle-shaped,] gourd, a general name for cucumbers, pumpkins &c. (v. Sm. Ant. s. vv. Colocynthe a. Colocynthis). Kil. I, 2 ד׳ מצרית וכ׳ Ms. M. (ed. המצרי, corr. acc.) Egyptian gourd and the Bitter-gourd may be planted together (v. כִּלְאַיִם). Ned. VI, 1 דלעת הרמוצה, variously explained ib. 51ᵃ; Y. Kil.
