שְׁמִירָה II, Sh’mirah, wife of Nebuchadnezzar. Lev. R. s. 19, end רב הונא אמר ש׳ שמה Rab H. says, her name was Sh’mirah; R. A. says, שְׁמִירָמוֹת שמה her name was Sh’miramoth; the Rabbis say שְׁמִירַעַם שמה her name was Sh’miraʿam. Yalk. Jer. 309 עד שהגיעו לש׳ אשתו וכ׳ (some ed. שְׁמִירַת) until they came to Sh., the wife &c.; Tanḥ. Vayikra 6 שְׁמוּרַת.
