שָׁלַף שָׁלַף (b. h.; cmp. שָׁלֵו, a. שָׁלָה) 1) to be lax, hang down, be loose, slip. Denom. שָׁלִיף. —2) to loosen, take off, pull, draw a sword. Lev. R. s. 34 יִשְׁלוֹף Ar. (ed. ישמוט) may he loosen (release), v. חָלַץ. Y. Kidd. I, 60ᶜ top (ref. to Ruth IV, 7) מי ש׳ which took the shoe off (the buyer or the seller)? Num.
