שִׁיכּוּן, (שָׁכַן; v. Del. Assyr. Handw. s. v. שכן) establishment, realization, execution; use of the phrase כן עשה. Gen. R. s. 31, end (ref. to Gen. VI, 22) זה ש׳ לעשיית התיבה this refers to the carrying out of the command to make the ark; ib. s. 32 (ref. to ib. VII, 5 ויעש … ככל וכ׳) זה ש׳ לכינוס בהמה this refers to the execution of the command to bring in the beasts; Yalk. ib. 55; 56 שכיון (corr. acc.). Gen. R. s. 34 (ref. to Gen. VIII, 20 a. IX, 1) זה ש׳ לזכות הקרבנות (not שיכן בזכות) this is an establishment (standard passage, cmp. בנין אב, s. v. אָב) of the reward of sacrifices.
