שִׁיכְמִי, (denom. of שְׁכֶם) shikhmi, by-name of a certain class of Pharisees. Y. Ber. IX, 14ᵇ bot. פרוש ש׳, expl. טעין מצוותא וכ׳ who carries religious exercises on his shoulder; Y. Sot. V, 20ᶜ bot.; Bab. Sot. 22ᵇ, expl. זה העושה מעשה שכם he who acts like Shechem (who underwent circumcision from an unholy motive).
